What happens to the embryos that remain unused following embryo transfer?

1 answer

Before you begin treatment, you will sign a document regarding the disposition of unused embryos and oocytes.  This means: what is done with your remaining eggs and embryos after your treatment?  For legal reasons, we cannot make any decisions against your initial choice UNLESS YOU INFORM US OF YOUR DESIRE TO CHANGE.  Options for you and your partner include, indefinite storage, donation for research, and destruction.  Keep in mind that this is a joint decision, so if you and your partner split up or change your minds down the road, you need to inform us.  We make every effort to comply with your most current wishes.
