Why do I have to take Nasal spray and Ovidrel for trigger?

1 answer

Nasal spray contains the hormone LH (Luteinizing Hormone), which surges when you ovulate naturally. We are using the nasal spray to mimic your natural LH surge.  Ovidrel contains HCG, which helps to mature the egg to its final maturity before retrieval.  Both trigger medications are also used to time your retrieval procedure since both medications peak about 34-38 hours after administration.
